History of Historical House

The Victorian House and Carriage House were built in 1891 by Lyman Wisner, who was a very wealthy landowner. He was, however, met with an untimely accidental death before it was finished and only his widow lived in the mansion. She employed an artist from Chicago to paint some of the murals on the walls. The home also has unique woodwork throughout. After Mrs. Wisner's death, the home had several changes of ownership. The last owner's father served as a Captain in the Civil War, and many of his personal belongings are on display here.
