Lawn Chair Afternoon
Please join us at the Hardin County Historical House for a lawn chair afternoon. The Ackley German Band will be performing with roots that reach back over 100 years. They perform Polkas, Waltzes, and Marches with a few current popular favorites thrown in. They start their performance season each year at Sauerkraut Days in Ackley and wrap up the season performing at the Iowa State Fair. Light refreshments will be served and tours of the Historical House will be available after the performance. Donations will be taken by “Passing of the Hat.”

Annual Meeting
Join us for our Annual Meeting at the Historical House on Saturday, June 24th. We will have a short business meeting followed by guest speakers Dan & Lisa Sheller sharing about their visit to Normandy, France. They will share a video of highlights from their trip including; Memorial de Caen, Arromanches, Omaha Beach, and the Normandy American Cemetery. Light refreshments will be provided. 7th Annual Car Show
7th Annual Car Show and Ice Cream Social, Sunday, September 18th. Car registration and parking will begin at 11 AM at the Masonic Lodge in Eldora on the corner of 23rd Avenue and S. Washington.
Ice cream social, food, and entertainment will begin at noon. Everyone is invited to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the entertainment and visit with other vehicle enthusiasts.

History of Wedding Dresses
Join us on Sunday, July 10th for wedding dresses on display and their history The Historical House will be open from 2-4 PM.

Annual Meeting
Join us for our Annual Meeting at the Historical House on Saturday, June 25th. Our guest speaker will be highlighting the book by Audie Murphy.

Military Display
Join us on Sunday , June 12th for our military display. The Historical House will be open from 2-4 PM.

50 Years of Hats on Display
Join us on Sunday, May 15th for 50 Years of hats on display. The Historical House will be open from 2-4 PM.

Omelet & Pancake Brunch
Join us on Sunday, April 24th for our 17th Annual Omelet & Pancake Brunch. Omelets will be prepared by Kiwanis. Free will donation. All proceeds will go to the Hardin County Historical Society.

6th Annual Car Show
Sixth Annual Car Show and Ice Cream Social, Sunday, September 19th. Car registration and parking will begin at 11 AM.
Homemade ice cream, food, entertainment, silent auction and more will begin at noon. (Guidelines/recommendations by the state concerning COVID will be followed). Everyone is invited to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the entertainment and visit with other vehicle enthusiasts.
This year we have a special raffle for a beautiful king size quilt handmade and donated by Alma Donaldson. Tickets are $5 or 5 for $20 and will be available at the car show or can be purchased in advance by contacting a member of the society. All NEW yearly memberships in value of $20 will include a $5 raffle ticket. All monies raised from this fundraiser will be used for the Historical House and Library. Annual Meeting
The Hardin County Historical Society will be hosting their annual meeting. Local DNR Park Ranger Andy Place will be the guest speaker. Andy will be speaking on the - The History of Pine Lake and Present Concerns:. A short business meeting will be held to vote on the upcoming fiscal year budget and for 2 open positions on the Board of Directors. Light refreshments will be served.
The King size quilt will be on display, and raffle tickets will be available for purchase.
